German-based Gauselmann Group is partnering with TUI Cruises to operate a ship’s casino under the Casino Merkur Mare brand. A second casino ship would be added in 2019. The ships, currently dubbed Mein Schiff 1 and Mein Schiff 2 would operate in international waters, thus avoiding many restrictive regulations in Germany.

The new Mein Schiff 1 will be 120 meters plus in length and will be designed as a boutique casino with slots and a 14-seat table offering roulette and blackjack.
