Germany Awards First Online Slots License

Glücksspielbehörde, the new national German online gaming regulator has issued the first online slots license to Jackpot Piraten and Bing Bong operator Mernov, which is part of the Gauselmann Group.

The company has been licensed to operate online slots at both Jackpotpiraten.de and Bingbong.de.

The license permits the company to offer online slots nationwide, rather than at one of Germany’s states, which was made possible by Germany’s Fourth State Treaty on Gambling, which became law last July.

The games have a €1 stake limit with operators paying 5.3 percent in tax.

So far, no licenses have been granted for online poker or other online table games.
