Naga3, the US$3.5 billion expansion of Cambodian integrated resort NagaWorld, will include the tallest tower in Phnom Penh, per new information from Chicago-based architectural firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM). The firm just released a new rendering of its design for the resort complex, showing a total of three slim, modernistic towers.
SOM said Naga3 “will be the most important landmark for the city in the years to come. The building is split in three towers, each rising out of a common, porous podium. At the top, the towers are connected once again through an exclusive amenity with unrivalled views of the city and the river. The uppermost point in the North tower will be a commanding emblem in the skyline, and the highest point in the entire Phnom Penh.”
Naga3 will include gaming facilities with room for 800 tables and 2,500 EGMs, along with retail, restaurants, a theme park, a spa and conference space. Naga3 will be 50 percent funded by controlling shareholder and CEO Chen Lip Keong and 50 percent by “external funding options, with each to contribute US$1.76 billion,” reported CalvinAyre.com.
