The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers was formed more than 15 years ago in response to a threat of added taxes on slot machines. While the organization beat back that first challenge, it remained active in the sector, representing gaming vendors on a variety of issues. When Konami’s Tom Jingoli was elected president nine years ago, soon after the arrival of executive director Marcus Prater, the organization was transformed and has grown by more than 500 percent. The group’s visibility and respect in the industry has grown equally. Jingoli spoke with GGB Publisher Roger Gros for the cover story of G2E Preview, which will be released with the August issue of GGB.
