GLI Names Engineering Development Manager

Gaming Laboratories International has named IT professional Steve Bonilla as the company’s new engineering development manager.

Leading gaming testing company Gaming Laboratories International has named gaming industry IT professional Steve Bonilla as the company’s new engineering development manager.

Bonilla will act as a subject-matter expert and as an advocate for clients, “understanding their needs and pain points and best aligning each client with the services GLI can provide,” according to the company.

Bonilla comes to GLI from slot manufacturer AGS, where, as director of IT & technical compliance, he was tasked with transforming dated and unmanaged technology into a modern, multi-site international infrastructure while aligning company procedures to gaming industry standards.

Bonilla also serves as an adjunct Instructor, teaching IT security and fundamentals to college undergrads, and has certified Class II/Class III gaming systems as team leader at BMM Testlabs. Bonilla belongs and contributes to several IT and security-focused groups, and serves a volunteer role as education director for the Las Vegas Chapter of the Information Systems Security Association (ISSA).

“Recognizing the critical importance of IT auditing and security to our clients’ businesses, over the past three years GLI has been very carefully assembling a team of the world’s leading IT and IT security experts and building the most complete portfolio of professional services available,” said GLI Vice President of Global Services Ian Hughes. “Now, we are thrilled to add Steve to our team, where he will champion our clients’ needs, empowering us to provide the perfect solution for each individual situation.”

Bonilla’s hiring comes on the heels of GLI’s acquisition of SLI Global Solutions, which further expanded GLI’s professional services capabilities, including IT audits and penetration testing.
