Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. is the Australian slot giant that never seemed to make it over the top outside of their home country. Until now. When Jamie Odell was appointed CEO several years ago, he embarked on an aggressive expansion plan, ramped up game design, and acquisitions that have built the reputation of the company with dependability and performance. When Odell brought on Maureen Sweeny last year, she tied all the pieces together, and results have been impressive. The company has topped the Goldman Sachs slot report for the last two years and the purchase of VLC, an Oklahoma-based Class II manufacturer has quickly made Aristocrat a leader in that market. They spoke with GGB Editor Frank Legato from their offices in Las Vegas in August for the cover of the September issue of the magazine.
