Sheldon Adelson is one of the most important people in the gaming industry. He bought the Sands Casino Hotel in Las Vegas in 1988 and proceeded to build what is today the most valuable casino company in the world, with operations in Las Vegas, Macau, Singapore and Pennsylvania. During the interview he traces his route in gaming and explains why he didn’t bid on licenses in Massachusetts or Atlantic City, but that he would definitely be interested in a casino resort in northern New Jersey outside New York City. He responds combatively to questions about his opposition to iGaming, demonstrating how his emotions and personal feelings impact his opinion on the subject. Adelson appeared at the Global Gaming Expo on October 1, 2014 to be interviewed by GGB Publisher Roger Gros. His newfound friend Steve Wynn, who had addressed G2E the day before, was in the front row.
