GLOBAL GAMING BUSINESS PODCAST: Whit Askew, Vice President of Government Relations, American Gaming Association

Even though Whit Askew has yet to reach 40 years old, his experience in Washington runs deep. Soon after his arrival in the nation’s capital, Askew wound up on the staff of House Speaker John Boehner, eventually directing his national political campaigns. Askew joined the AGA six years ago, hired by Frank Fahrenkopf, the former president and CEO of the organization. So he’s had a ringside seat for the changes that have been undertaken since the arrival of current President and CEO Geoff Freeman. He talks about that transition and the penultimate issue of the AGA right now, the legalization of sports betting. He spoke to GGB Publisher Roger Gros from the AGA offices in Washington D.C. in October.
