Maltese virtual sportsbook provider Golden Race has expanded its presence in Africa through a deal with Headsquare, the exclusive licensee for the Betway brand in Africa.

Presently, Golden Race processes 80 percent of all tickets sold for virtual markets across the country, where its virtual football leagues are popular.

“Betway is a world-class company in the online sports betting and casino industry with a huge presence in Europe. We are the market leader in Africa, so this is a win-win alliance to continue to grow in both markets,” explained Martin Wachter, Golden Race CEO and founder.

Jason Kramer, head of product at Betway Africa, added: “Golden Race is a leading provider of Virtuals through Africa and understands the African landscape extremely well. Their presence in this continent is impressive and customers are familiar with their games content. This makes it easy to partner with Golden Race and we have full confidence in our relationship with them.”

Wachter said it’s “good to have a foothold” in the U.S. market, where he expects the popularity of virtual sports to grow over the next few years, and revealed plans to expand in Latin America, including a big project in Colombia, reported CDC Gaming Reports.

Golden Race is a leading developer and provider of award-winning virtual sports and betting solutions. The company offers the first real sportsbook with a virtual outcome. Based on realistic odds, its virtual sports generate more than 15 million tickets per day through major partners around the world.
