Google Adds Gambling Apps to Play Store

Google will let Android users access betting and gambling apps through Play Store, beginning March 1. The launch will allow apps for online casino games, sports betting, lotteries and daily fantasy sports in certain states, according to CNet.

“We allow real-money gambling apps, ads related to real-money gambling and daily fantasy sports apps that meet certain requirements,” Google’s support page says.

App makers need to complete an application form, adhere to laws where the app is accessible, and have a valid gambling license for each state or country it wants to operate in. These apps must also contain an adult only rating, with information about problem gambling.

Apps must also include steps to prevent minors from playing on the app or using Google Play to pay.

Gambling and betting apps are also available in a variety of countries throughout the world including Australia, Brazil, Canada, Finland, France, Japan, Mexico, Norway, Romania, and the U.K.
