Gordon Ramsay Steak Replacing Binion in Baltimore

Chef Gordon Ramsay, the popular creator and star of "Hell's Kitchen" and "MasterChef" will open a new steak house at the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore later this year. Gordon Ramsay Steak will replace Jack Binion's Steak. Ramsay also operates a steak house at Paris Las Vegas.

Flamboyant and outspoken Chef Gordon Ramsay, creator and star of Hell’s Kitchen and MasterChef, will open a new steak house, Gordon Ramsay Steak, at the Horseshoe Casino Baltimore, replacing Jack Binion’s Steak. Opening later this year, the restaurant will be the second Gordon Ramsay Steak location; the original is at the Paris Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. Said Ramsay, “I’ve been a big lover of Baltimore and what it stands for and what comes out of there regionally.”

While the menu still is being finalized, Ramsay said he will offer signature dishes from the Las Vegas restaurant, including beef Wellington and sticky toffee pudding. He also will offer more seafood dishes and regional specialties. “I’m going to interject a lot more of the East Coast, fish, crabs. I think it’s going to be easier sourcing from the East Coast and the surrounding waters,” he said.

The menu also will feature fish and chips made with local beer batter, classic British ale soup, braised beef cheeks and smoked bone marrow, Ramsay said.

Regarding the atmosphere, Ramsay noted, “I sort of want to strip back the glamorous side of Vegas so that it becomes a little bit more personal. I’m betting into the localization. I’m making that restaurant feel less flashy than Vegas and more comfortable locally.”

He said the price point will be similar to Jack Binion’s Steak but lower than Ramsay’s Las Vegas steak house, averaging $70-$80 per head.

Ramsay said his team has been investigating the best food in Baltimore and figuring out how to incorporate it in his menu. “We’re like little magpies. We’re always going in looking for glitter and finding out what’s working,” Ramsay commented.
