Guitar-Shaped Hotel Halfway Done

Construction on the guitar-shaped hotel at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida recently passed the halfway mark. Owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida, the unique structure is part of a $1.5 billion expansion at Hard Rock International’s flagship venue.

Led by Las Vegas-based Klai Juba Wald Architects, the 450-foot hotel tower is designed to resemble back-to-back guitars. The redevelopment also will double the size of the current Hard Rock Casino, with 3,267 slot machines, 178 table games and an 18,000 square foot poker room. A 7,000-seat Hard Rock Live venue and 60,000 square feet of retail and dining options will complete the complex, scheduled to open in mid-2019.
