Ho Tram Strip to Get Airport?

The $4.2 billion Grand Ho Tram Strip, which opened in 2013, has received tentative approval for an airport in Loc An. The goal is to transport more foreign guests to the integrated resort on the South China Sea.

To be built under BOT model

The Ho Tram Project Co., operator of the $4.2 billion Grand Ho Tram Strip resort in Vietnam, has won support for its proposed specialized airport project to be built in Loc An commune.

The Ba Ria-Vung Tau People’s Committee has agreed in principle to the construction, reported the Vietnam Investment Review. Ho Tram wants the airport to bring in foreign visitors. The people’s committee agreed that the airport would help boost tourism overall and thereby support the local economy.

According to the operator, the airport will be located on a 200-hectare (495-acre) parcel and will be invested under the build-operate-transfer model. Based on the company’s plans, the project will break even within 50 years, reported VIR.

The Grand Ho Tram Strip opened in July 2013.
