The Netherlands government has extended the national Covid-19 lockdown by three weeks, meaning Holland Casino’s 14 gaming halls will remain closed until February 9 at the earliest.

According to iGamingBusiness.com, the properties closed for the third time due to the coronavirus on December 16. That lockdown, originally intended to last until January 19, was extended three more weeks due to a surge in viral infections.

The operator’s revenue for the first half of 2020 fell 58.7 percent year-on-year despite strong performance before the casinos closed. Net losses for the period came to €28.3 million (US$32.2 million) compared to a €32.5 million (US$39.4 million) profit in 2019.
