Last year, state-owned operator Holland Casinos saw revenues grow 11 per cent to €728.9 million.
With the worldwide shutdown of gaming and other businesses, growth is hardly expected for 2020, but Holland Casinos CFO Ruud Bergervoet said the postponement “is an opportunity, because we now can use that extra half year to be even better prepared.”
Last year, Holland Casinos attracted 6.2 million visitors people to its 14 casinos. Slot games generated €383.5 million, an increase of 12.8 percent year-on-year. Table games brought in €288.9 million, up 8.7 percent, for a combined €202.4 million in taxes.
“I am proud of our figures for the past financial year,” said Holland Casino Chief Executive Erwin van Lambaart. “It is an excellent result that we have achieved. We want to continue to play a leading role in this area if we offer online gambling in the future.”
The company planned to launch online betting in January, but pushed the date back to July.
