Hollywood Casino in Maryland Heights, Missouri recently completed a year-long, million makeover. Penn National acquired the former Harrah’s Casino in November 2012 from Caesars Entertainment for 0 million.
The property features a renovated 120,000 square foot gaming floor with 500 new slot machines, for a total of 2,100 slots and video poker games, plus 70 table games and a smoke-free area. Big screen TVs and tablets offer customers high-tech entertainment.
The legendary St. Louis favorite Charlie Gitto’s Restaurant still is on-site, but new dining options have been added, including Final Cut Steakhouse, Eat Up! Buffet, Phat Tai, Celebrity Grill and Club Aroma coffee bar.
The 500-room hotel was not included in the renovation but Marc DeLeo, Hollywood Casino vice president of marketing, said that’s “something we’ll look at down the road.”
Revenue at Hollywood Casino has declined every month in 2013 compared with the same month in 2012. The casino posted revenue of nearly $18.1 million in December, down 11 percent from the same month in 2012, according to Missouri Gaming Commission figures.
