Hotel Approved for Trinidad Rancheria

The California Costal Commission has approved the addition of a five-story, 100-room hotel at the Trinidad Rancheria casino, pending proof of a reliable water source.

The California Coastal Commission has given the Trinidad Rancheria casino the go-ahead to move forward with its proposed five-story, 100 room hotel after finding the project complies with the state’s coastal act.

The commission considered two key issues facing the hotel: its water supply and how it will look. The commission voted 6 to 5 in support of the project, but there was one condition. Trinidad Rancheria and the federal Bureau of Indian Affairs must find a reliable source of water.

The project was originally considered back in June, but was not approved. Prior to construction, the Bureau of Indian Affairs must provide evidence to the commission that a reliable water source has been lined up for the project.
