Authorities in Mississippi say two men attempted to outsmart the state lottery commission by submitting a losing ticket that had the winning numbers glued onto it. The ticket was valued at $100,000.

The men, Odis Latham, 47, and Russell Sparks, 48, both of Columbus, were arrested last Monday and charged with passing a counterfeit instrument over $1,000, a felony, and conspiracy. Latham was also charged with false identification information. Both have pleaded not guilty.

The Mississippi Lottery Commission has been selling scratch-off tickets since November.
