Italian gaming operators generated €258.9 million (US$317.5 million) in revenues in November, fueled by €123.6 million from the online casino side.

In November, Italian iGaming comprised nearly half of all casino revenues—€123.6 million (US$152.5 million) of €258.9 million (US$317.5 million). According to iGamingBusiness.com, the total represents the first time iGaming has generated more than €250 million in a single month.

Flutter Entertainment-owned PokerStars retained its lead in the casino vertical. The unit saw a boost in online poker activity due to the coronavirus lockdown. Poker tournament revenues increased by almost 43 percent month-over-month to €11.22 million, and ring game revenues by 35 percent to €7.21 million. Stars claimed a 55 percent market share when it came to tournaments, and held a 44 percent share of cash game GGR for the month.

Bet365, the country’s leading mobile sportsbook, ceded its No. 1 spot to Entain-owned Eurobet, Playtech-owned Snai, Goldbet, Sisal and Planetwin365, iGB reported. The ascension of its rivals was attributed to the migration of retail customers to the online space.
