Caesars Entertainment Inc. announced a $7 million expansion project at the barn and dormitory at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino in Shelbyville, Indiana. One month ago ground was broken on a $32 million expansion at the casino.
Caesars officials said the project will include a 100-stall enclosed, winterized barn with 10 wash bays, restrooms and 10 tack rooms. The dormitory to be built next to the new barn, will include 50 additional rooms and house the staff who look after the horses.
Eric Halstrom, vice president and general manager of racing at Indiana Grand Racing & Casino said construction will begin next month. He noted, “As our racing continues to grow at the national level, we receive even more requests to race at our facility. This addition will further solidify Indiana Grand as a premier racing destination.”
