The investigation continues into King Gaming, an Isle of Man-based online casino operator whose gambling license has been suspended, Asia Gaming Brief reported April 29.
King Gaming and Dalmine Ltd.’s licenses were suspended April 24 in accordance with the crown dependency’s Online Gambling Regulation Act (OGRA) by the Gambling Supervision Commission (GSC).
More information on that action has come to light from statements released by the island’s Financial Services Authority (FSA). The same day the license was suspended, the island Constabulary served several warrants in the capital of Douglas. This resulted in seven arrests.
A Manx police spokesman commented, “In relation to those warrants seven people were arrested and subsequently released on police bail. A number of people found on the premises at Victoria Road were subject of further immigration interviews involving the IOM Immigration Services and those inquiries are ongoing.”
The investigation was part of a wider fraud and money laundering investigation by the police’s Proactive International Money Laundering and Investigation Team.
King’s Gaming is one of the most well-known eGaming firms based on the island. It has released plans to build a new headquarters that was described as the island’s “largest single private investment.”
