The Malta-based Kindred Group, whose brands include Unibet and 32Red, reports that it reduced the percentage of revenues from harmful gambling for the fourth quarter of 2023. According to iGaming Business, players’ habits also improved following intervention.
Revenues determined to come from problem gamblers amounted to 3.1 percent of the total in Q4, compared to 3.3 percent in the first and third quarters and 3.1 percent in the second quarter.
In the fourth quarter, 87.4 percent of customers saw improved behavior after intervention by Kindred. This compared to 86.7 percent in the third quarter, 86.4 percent in the second quarter and 83 percent in the first.
These outcomes reflect the group’s “unwavering” commitment to positive change, said Kindred Director of Communications Alexander Westrell. “Addressing the decline in revenue from harmful gambling requires a long-term view,” he said. “It’s important to note that our ‘Journey towards Zero’ data has shown a steady decrease since 2020.”
This commitment, he said, is “a core part of Kindred’s DNA.”
The group began publishing details of harmful gaming revenue and the effects on interventions in 2021 and now releases updates quarterly.
