Ladbrokes Unveils Fantasy Sports Tournament

The UK betting giant and the country’s Trinity Mirror media conglomerate are expanding their fantasy football partnership with a head-to-head mobile phone mini-league. The app is free to players, who will compete for more than £10,000 in cash prizes.

The UK’s Ladbrokes Sportsbook & Racebook is giving users of its fantasy football mobile app, Mirror Fantasy iTeam, the chance to go head-to-head in a mini-league for a prize pool of more than £10,000.

The app is free to download, and players 18 and older can compete by joining a Ladbrokes Free Bets League on their phones.

Fantasy iTeam, which features real-time transfers, a live and interactive news feed and instant scores and squad news, boasts more than 1.2 million users.

“The 2015-16 season was one of the most unpredictable and historic ever, and there’s a real buzz ahead of the new campaign,” said Phil Shaw, commercial director, Fantasy iTeam.

“We’ve just seen a fantastic Euro 2016—England aside—but for the Mirror, the football never stops,” added Mark O’Donnell, head of Betting and Gaming for Trinity Mirror Solutions.
