The Chemehuevi Tribe of California November 13 held the grand opening for the Havasu Landing Resort and Casino on the shores of Lake Havasu that is partially in Nevada and partially in the Golden State.
The 72,500-square-foot casino is attached to a 48-room hotel, a sports bar, gift shop, dining, ferry dock and marina slips and store. It replaces the tribe’s original casino, which was located a quarter of a mile away.
Although the tribe has worked on the project for years, it broke ground two years ago. The planned spring 2019 completion was delayed due to “work force challenges,” a tribal leader told the Havasu News Herald.
