Resort to be called NayonLanding
Landing International Development Ltd. will build the next integrated casino resort in the city of Parañaque in Metro Manila’s Entertainment City casino zone.
The zone is now home to Solaire Resort and Casino, a Bloomberry Resorts property that opened in 2013; City of Dreams Manila, which opened in 2014 and is run by Macau-based gaming operator Melco Resorts and Entertainment Ltd.; and Okada Manila, which opened in 2016 and operates under the license of Tiger Resort, Leisure and Entertainment Inc., a unit of Japanese conglomerate Universal Entertainment Corp. Currently, Travellers International Hotel Group Inc., a joint venture of Alliance Global Group Inc. and Genting Hong Kong Ltd., is developing a casino resort called Westside City Resorts World.
In a filing to the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, Landing stated, “The Parañaque City Council has, among others, passed the resolution approving and granting the request of Landing Resorts Philippines Development Corp. to operate a resort and a casino in the Entertainment City in Barangay Tambo, city of Parañaque, the Philippines.”
The subsidiary will lease 9.5 hectares (23.5 acres) in Entertainment City’s Manila Bay area. The property will encompass approximately 500,000 square meters (5.38-million square feet) and include a “casino, a Filipino cultural theme park, an indoor water park, an indoor movie-based theme park, a convention center, luxury hotels, retail and dining areas, and other commercial and entertainment facilities,” the group stated.
Landing International Chairman and Executive Director Yang Zhihui said the resort will be called NayonLanding, which he described as a recognition of the “rich culture and heritage of the Philippines landing in the Entertainment City.”
