Leech Lake Gaming, operator of Minnesota casinos owned by the Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe, has named casino industry veteran Michael Michaud (l.) as its new CEO.

The Leech Lake Band of Ojibwe announced the hiring of Michael Michaud as the new CEO of Leech Lake Gaming. He will be responsible for overseeing the day-to -day operations at Cedar Lakes Casino & Hotel-Cass Lake, Northern Lights Casino Hotel & Event Center-Walker, White Oak Casino-Deer River, Leech Lake Gaming Division-Cass Lake, Shingobee on the Bay Sports Bar & Marina-Walker, Leech Lake Market-Cass Lake and Leech Lake Express C-Stores-Cass Lake & Walker.

“It’s nice to return back to the place where my gaming career started 32 years ago,” said Michaud, whose extensive casino operations and marketing experience includes Seminole Casino properties in Coconut Creek, Florida, Twin Arrows Resort & Casino in Flagstaff, Arizona, and Grand Casino Hinckley in Minnesota.

“We are proud to see one of our own tribal enrolled members be so successful in the gaming industry. and to now take our businesses to the next level,” said Leech Lake Tribal Chairman Faron Jackson.
