For the first time in 2016, the Macau Gaming Equipment Manufacturers Association will attend the ICE Totally Gaming Show in London to pitch Macau as “an unparalleled powerhouse for trade and business to the world industry,” and the hub of the Asia Pacific, according to a release from the trade group, which represents the leading 150 gaming and entertainment corporations in Asia.
A delegation of senior figures from the Macau business community will host a special cocktail party and reception on February 3, the second day of the exhibition, at the Crown Plaza Hotel near the exhibition hall. The reception will include an opening welcome by MGEMA Chairman Jay Chun, who will officially launch the association’s international relations campaign for 2016.
“The MGEMA has come a long way in its three years of representing the interests of the major forces in Asian business,” said Chun. “We have earned the trust of the Macau SAR government, who are major sponsors of our own trade show MGS, and we have a very powerful case to make. The drive for economic diversity in Macau opens a wealth of opportunity for business in the region and that will form the crux of our international campaign over the coming year.”
The reception will include VIPs from Chinese and Asian industry and “provides a rare opportunity for the international business community to discuss economic and investment opportunities in the region with the Macau delegates” according to the release.
“The reception will be the MGEMA’s first official venture on foreign soil,” said Chun. “We have a lot of initiatives and projects we want to discuss with the industry, and we also want to build partnerships across the world that will strengthen the trading, commercial and cultural links between us all.”
