Metcalf Leads Coquilles’ CEO

Judy Metcalf recently was named chief executive officer of the North Bend, Oregon-based Coquille Indian Tribe's Coquille Economic Development Corporation. Metcalf's role in helping to establish the tribe's Mill Casino, as a 10-year member of the Coquille Tribal Gaming Commission, was cited among her qualifications for the position.

The Coquille Indian Tribe of North Bend, Oregon recently named Judy Metcalf as chief executive officer of the Coquille Economic Development Corporation. She was appointed interim chief executive officer of CEDCO in October 2014. Prior to that, Metcalf served as CEDCO’s executive director for special projects and as project manager for the Medford gaming project’s fee-to-trust process. She also worked at Regence Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Portland and held several positions at Nike, Inc.

Additionally, Metcalf served on the Coquille Tribal Gaming Commission for 10 years, during which time the Mill Casino, which recently celebrated its 20th anniversary, was established.

Coquille Tribal Chairperson Brenda Meade cited Metcalf’s management of the tribe’s Medford gaming venture as one of the main factors in her selection. “During Judy’s interim time as CEO of CEDCO, she demonstrated her ability to improve communications and develop trust throughout all of the CEDCO entities. Ultimately, Judy’s tireless work ethic and commitment to the Coquille Indian Tribe makes her the ideal individual to lead the Tribe’s economic development,” Meade said.
