MGM Resorts Promotes Zanella, Neubecker

MGM Resorts International announced Steven Zanella (l.) has been named president of core properties in Las Vegas. Previously he was president and chief operating officer at MGM Grand Detroit. Michael Neubecker, who served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas since 2008, will succeed Zanella.

MGM Resorts International recently announced the promotions of Steven Zanella and Michael Neubecker. Zanella will be president of core properties in Las Vegas; most recently he was MGM Grand Detroit president and chief operating officer. Zanella will be succeeded by Neubecker, who has served as senior vice president and chief financial officer at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas since 2008.

As president of core properties, a new position, Zanella will oversee the operations at five of MGM Resorts International’s major Las Vegas resorts, including Monte Carlo Resort and Casino, New York-New York Hotel & Casino, Luxor Hotel and Casino, Excalibur Hotel & Casino and Circus Circus Las Vegas.

Prior to joining MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Neubecker, a Michigan native,

served as executive director of finance, assistant vice president of finance and vice president of finance and chief financial officer at MGM Grand Detroit. He was part of the team responsible for planning and constructing the casino hotel’s permanent facility, which opened in 2007. During the 1990s, Neubecker was director of finance, construction controller and senior accountant at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University.

Market-leading MGM Grand Detroit posted $50.2 million in revenue for July, up 3 percent compared to July 2015. In addition to gaming, the facility offers a 400-room hotel and more than 30,000 square feet of meeting space.
