Mississippi Casino Topped Out

The $350 million, 18-story Scarlet Pearl Casino in D'Iberville, Mississippi is on schedule to open by the year's end. The property will feature a 167,000 square foot casino floor with 1,350 slots and 40 table games, plus a 4-star hotel, events center and a much-anticipated $2.5 million miniature golf course with an erupting volcano.

A topping-out ceremony recently was held at the 0 million, 18-story Scarlet Pearl Casino in D’Iberville, Mississippi—the city’s first and the region’s 12th casino. City Manager Bobby Eleuterius thanked the Granieri family for financing the property. “We waited 20 years for this. This is going to mean an awful lot for our city,” he said. Expected to be completed by the end of the year, the facility with create more than 1,200 permanent jobs, Eleuterius said.

The property will offer a 167,000 square foot casino floor with 1,350 slot machines and 40 table games. The 4-star hotel will feature luxury suites on the top floor and all rooms will have wall-to-wall and floor-to-ceiling glazing, said New York-based architectural and interior design consultant Nory Hazaveh explained.

An events center called the Strand and numerous dining and entertainment options also will be available. The most anticipated feature will be the $2.5 million, 36-hole miniature golf course complete with an erupting volcano, designed by Wisconsin-based COST.
