Morongo Casino Introduces Cashless Wagering

Southern California’s Morongo Casino has rolled out cashless wagering using Marker Trax, a digital casino marker developed over 20 years by Gary Ellis of Ellis Island Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.

The Palms Springs casino will be the first to employ the new marker app, which it says will make it more competitive against online casinos while providing convenience and safety for patrons.

Anyone who joins the casino’s Morongo Rewards Winner’s Club can use the app on a smartphone. The app communicates directly with the casino, which authorizes the marker.

Application takes minutes, says Charlie Skinner, chief operating officer at Marker Trax, and the app takes care of billing and collection, saving the casino that trouble. In times past, a casino might only offer a limited number of markers to special customers, now they will be able to offer thousands.
