Navajo’s Northern Edge Turns Four

Northern Edge Navajo Casino near Farmington, New Mexico will celebrate its fourth anniversary with cash and prize giveaways, including a $40,000 Anniversary Celebration with 20 winners daily. The property features award-winning architecture and art blending traditional Navajo symbolism with contemporary design, and employs 300 people, of whom nearly 86 percent are Navajo.

The Navajo Nation’s third casino, Northern Edge Navajo Casino near Farmington, New Mexico, recently celebrated its fourth anniversary. At a ceremony honoring the event, Derrick Watchman, chief executive officer of the Navajo Nation Gaming Enterprise, said, “We are proud that travelers to the four corners area and residents of the area continue to seek out our fine gaming and hospitality options at Northern Edge Casino.” He thanked all those associated with the casino “whose hard work the past four years has created so much success and allowed us to create hundreds of Navajo jobs, provide valuable job training and distribute millions of dollars in revenue to the Nation.”

The casino will offer cash and prize giveaways throughout January, including a $40,000 Anniversary Celebration with 20 winners each day. In addition, visitors can enjoy complimentary birthday cake and punch on January 16 and 17, and a new limited-edition, commemorative $5 casino chip will be issued.

Northern Edge offers slots, table games and a poker room and was the first Navajo casino to offer the popular Navajo Ten Tournaments. The property features several dining options including the Cedar Bow Restaurant, and offers live entertainment. Its award-winning architecture and art blend traditional Navajo symbolism with contemporary design.

Northern Edge employs 300 people, of whom nearly 86 percent are Navajo. It provides thousands of dollars to the community and sponsors numerous community and cultural events annually.
