The National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG) announced the recipients of the 2019 National Awards in Problem Gambling. The digital ceremony occurred on July 24 at the conclusion of the council’s first-ever digital symposium in which dozens of diverse presenters and 340 attended.
NCPG Board Member Chip Polston and Executive Director Keith Whyte emceed the awards ceremony, which recognized outstanding individuals and organizations for their accomplishments during 2019.
“We would like to offer our greatest congratulations to all of the winners,” Whyte said. “While this year has been challenging in many ways, the exceptional work done by these individuals and organizations in 2019 helped lay the foundation for NCPG’s sustained success in the most trying times. Their critical efforts make the Problem Gambling and Responsible Gambling fields more robust and impactful.”

- Corporate Website Award: Ohio for Responsible Gambling
- Public Awareness Award: Oklahoma Association on Problem and Compulsive Gambling
- Corporate Public Awareness Award: Ohio for Responsible Gambling
- Holiday Responsible Gaming Campaign Award: The Illinois Lottery
- Corporate Social Responsibility Award: Hard Rock International and Seminole Gaming
- Annual Research Award: Spencer Murch, University of British Columbia
- Jim Wuelfing Award for Prevention: Epic Risk Management
- Don Hulen Award for Advocacy: Chip Polston, Kentucky Lottery, Kentucky Council on Problem Gambling
- Joanna Franklin Award for Direct Service: CP Mirarchi, IGCG-II, BACC, JD
- Jeffrey M. Beck Recovery Ambassador Award: Marc Lefkowitz
