Nevada Gaming Control Board Appoints New Chief

Sally Elloyan is the new administration division chief of the Nevada Gaming Control Board, replacing Brian Duffrin, who is retiring. Elloyan started at the GCB in 1988.

Nevada Gaming Control Board Chairman A.G. Burnett has announced the appointment of a new administration division chief. The Carson City Deputy Chief of Investigations Sally Elloyan will replace current Administration Division Chief Brian Duffrin, who is retiring effective October 1, 2016.

“I am happy to promote Sally Elloyan into the role of the Chief of the Administration Division,” Chairman Burnett said.

Elloyan started with the board in 1988 as an agent in the Investigations Division. She has been with the board in various capacities, including the Investigation’s Division administrative supervisor and the coordinator of applicant services, as well as the executive secretary for the board and commission.

Elloyan left the Board from 2003 to 2008 and held various other positions in state government including an executive branch auditor for the Division of Internal Audits as well as the deputy commissioner for the Division of Insurance. Elloyan’s experience both inside the agency as well as her work experiences outside the agency, have prepared her well to perform the duties of the chief of administration, says Burnett.

Duffrin started with the board in 1989 and in addition to chief, held the positions of agent, senior agent, special agent and supervisor in the Tax and License Division, supervisor in the Corporate Securities Division and executive secretary for both the board and the Nevada Gaming Commission.
