New California Casino to Open March 31

A new casino will open March 31 in California Coachella Valley, Tortoise Rock Casino, the second casino operated by the Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians.

Tortoise Rock Casino in Twenty-nine Palms, California will hold grand opening celebrations on March 31, including a ribbon cutting to mark the end of the ten months of construction. This will be followed by live entertainment.

The 30,000 square foot casino will have 490 slot machines and seven gaming tables. It will offer live music, live sports TV and a lounge. It will employ about 100 employees.

The Twenty-Nine Palms Band of Mission Indians owns and operates Tortoise Rock Casino and also the Spotlight 29 Casino, both in the Coachella Valley.

The new casino included drought-tolerant landscaping (it is in the middle of the desert) high tech water recycling and reclamation.
