New Nightclub Opening at Aria

The Hakkasan Group plans to open a fancy and intimate nightclub in the Aria where the former Haze nightclub once operated. The new multilevel club, called Jewel, is planned to open by spring and will be smaller than recent massive club openings on the Las Vegas Strip and come with many high-tech features, including a two-sided video wall.

The Jewel nightclub at the Aria in Las Vegas is expected to open in the spring of 2016 and replaces the former Haze nightclub, the Hakkasan Group announced.

Hakkasan bought the nightclub location from the Light Group in December and is working with MGM Resorts International and Dubai World to open a trendy nightclub at the Aria, which has been without one since the Haze closed last year.

“There was a lot of enthusiasm for us doing this sooner rather than later,” Hakkasan Group President Nick McCabe told the Las Vegas Review Journal. “I give credit to MGM Resorts in giving us the kind of lead time we need to design and invest to develop the kind of product this market expects from Hakkasan.”

Unlike recent multi-floor nightclubs Hakkasan opened in Las Vegas, the Jewel will be relatively small and intimate with an emphasis on “fanciness.”

The club will have multiple levels with a mezzanine level and VIP suits on one level and a main club on the ground floor, and an advanced video wall with two-sided LED screens and special effect lighting, the Review Journal reported.

Entertainment will be provided by a mixture of DJs, commercial, and electronic dance music.
