U.S.-based Blackstone Group, parent company of Australian operator Crown Resorts, has begun selling off some Crown’s real estate holdings in Southbank, and sources have indicated that the company expects to fetch a total of about $50 million from the various deals. In 2020, Crown’s real estate portfolio was valued at approximately $5.6 billion—the company was sold to Blackstone in 2022 for $8.9 billion. • The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO) has appointed Karin Schnarr as its new chief executive and registrar. Schnarr assumes her role on September 18, replacing Tom Mungham, whose exit was confirmed earlier this year.
