No Casino Planned Says Michigan Tribe

Although the Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians of Michigan recently purchased a riverfront building on the Grand River, the tribe has no plans for a casino there.

The Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians based near Grand Rapids have no plans to put a casino in a riverfront building the tribe purchased recently.

Tribal Chairman Ron Yob told the Grand Rapids Press that the tribe purchased the building for $475,000 for offices. The tribe seeks recognition from the federal government. The buildings, overlooking the Grand River date back to the Great Depression era.

A local real estate broker commented, “Downtown Grand Rapids riverfront property is still in high demand. This property is an ideal location for any investor as the property values have steadily increased.”
