Norway’s gaming authority, Lotteri-og stiftelsestilsynet or Lottstift, has ordered the country’s bingo halls to operate online only, hoping to slow the spread of the Covid-19 virus.
Norwegian gambling regulations state that consumers can play bingo online but must be linked to games occurring in a land-based bingo hall, reported iGamingBusiness.com.
Games may only be offered for 12 hours a day, from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and each licensee can only offer one game at a time. New players no longer need to register for accounts in person.
The rules will be in place until March 29, but Lottstift reserves the right to extend them.
