The Buffalo Bills football team have concluded a sponsorship agreement with New York’s Seneca Indian Nation that designates the tribe’s Seneca Resorts and Casinos as the “Official Casino of the Buffalo Bills.”
Seneca Resorts, which operates casinos in Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Salamanca, will receive naming rights to the radio broadcast studio based at the team’s headquarters and will participate with the team in contests to give away a motor coach and a pair of season tickets for 2020.
“This partnership brings even more opportunities for play both on and off the field,” said Melissa Free, a senior vice president for Seneca Gaming Corp.
It also points up a growing trend among National Football League teams to partner with casinos as legal sports betting expands across the country.
Just prior to the Bills’ announcement, the Green Bay Packers announced they were signing on with Oneida Casino as their official casino sponsor. Last year, the Dallas Cowboys announced a similar agreement with an Oklahoma tribal casino.
The NFL, meanwhile, has selected Caesars Entertainment to serve as the league’s official casino sponsor and has reached an agreement with Sportradar to provide real-time official data to sportsbooks in the U.S. and worldwide.
