On December 2, the Chickasaw Nation’s development arm, Global Gaming Nebraska, unveiled plans for the $50 million North Platte Exposition & Racing facility in Nebraska. Horse racing and a casino would operate side-by-side.

The facility is planned for undeveloped property next to Interstate 80. It has already garnered the support of the North Platte Area Chamber & Development Corp., whose president, Gary Person, said he is organizing a letter-writing campaign in support of the project, and targeting key lawmakers and the Nebraska Racing and Gaming Commission.
