Anticipating the possibility of expanded gambling in Texas, the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma has formed a 5-year partnership with Grandscape, an outdoor shopping and entertainment destination in North Dallas.

The deal makes the Choctaw tribe Grandscape’s “official casino and resort/sports betting partner” and allows it to sponsor live concerts, festivals and fitness events at the location.

Grandscape Campaign and Media Relations Manager Kate Wedekind explained, “This partnership is mainly for brand promotion and sponsorship purposes, similar to the ones we have with other companies. Sports betting didn’t really factor into it at this point because we haven’t got that yet. And we don’t know when it’s coming.”

The Grandscape deal also could include an incentive program, allowing customers to earn rewards points redeemable at any Choctaw property in Oklahoma—including its flagship casino resort in Durant, less than a 1-hour drive from Grandscape. Officials there said at least two-thirds of its guests live in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
