Paradise Launching Robot Dealer

Paradise Entertainment is introducing a human-like electronic croupier, aimed at opening new markets and cutting costs for casinos.

Hong Kong-based Paradise Entertainment used last month’s Macau gaming show to introduce “Min,” a human-like electronic robot croupier appearing as a svelte brunette.

The robot croupier initially will just deal cards, but Paradise Chairman Jay Chun told the Japan Times last week that planned enhancements to the android could have Min recognizing customers’ faces and speaking to them in multiple languages.

“We are the first gambling equipment manufacturer in the world that produces the human-like robotic dealer,” Chun told the Times.

Min and her sisters will be introduced initially in the U.S. Paradise officials say they are currently in discussions with several potential buyers.
