Wind Creek Bethlehem has applied for approval to operate both a casino sportsbook, along with mobile and internet betting. The application, filed April 29, follows a deal in January between Wind Creek Hospitality and Betfred to operate the sportsbook.
The filing release issued by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board provides little in the way of details as the company requested confidentiality, according to lehighvalleylive.com.
Wind Creek won’t be the first Lehigh Valley location for a sportsbook if approved. The Downs at Lehigh Valley, operated by Mohegan Sun, opened a sportsbook for a test period March 2.
Wind Creek Bethlehem revenues from gambling and fantasy sports dropped 71 percent in March compared to the same month a year ago. By contrast, the industry itself fell 52 percent, according to the gaming board.
