Playtech to Open U.S. Live Casino Studio

London-based iGaming content supplier Playtech announced that it has secured a long-term lease for its first live casino studio in the U.S., after securing a lease to a site in the city of Southfield, Michigan which will be one of the state’s largest studios from which to stream live-dealer table games to internet casinos.

The state-of-the-art studio will feature Playtech’s best-in-class technology and video capabilities from its flagship Riga, Latvia studio. The scale of Playtech’s offering means it can offer integrated live content across retail and online channels and across product verticals, delivering live iGaming never seen before in the U.S. market, according to the company. The studio will deliver bespoke areas for operator-dedicated tables and networked tables, with room to grow and expand to support Playtech’s U.S. expansion.

Southfield, the location of the new Playtech Live Casino studio, is fast becoming Michigan’s leading technology and innovation hub, and is an approved location by the Michigan regulator. The studio will not only bring Playtech’s live entertainment and game show content to the burgeoning iGaming market in Michigan, but it will also provide local employment opportunities to the community of Southfield.

“The new studio in Michigan is the first step in our U.S. live expansion as we look to deliver live studios in all regulated states,” said Shimon Akad, chief operating officer of Playtech. “Our Michigan studio is being designed to be one of the more sophisticated studios tailored to the U.S. market, featuring innovation and entertainment at its best. The scale of our technology and breadth of our product will allow Playtech to take the live iGaming experience in the U.S. to the next level.

“At Playtech, we pride ourselves in being a key member of all our communities, and we are thrilled to be bringing employment opportunities to local communities as part of our expansion in the U.S. With the effects of the global pandemic still felt in markets across the globe, it is more important than ever we support our local industries and communities.”

The news of the Michigan studio follows Playtech’s announcement in February of a strategic partnership to supply Parx Casino with multiple products across Playtech’s IMS Platform, which will commence with the launch of online casino in Michigan.
