Polish casinos closed for three weeks at the beginning January to limit the spread of the coronavirus. Colorado-based Century Casinos, which is heavily invested in the market, expects ongoing depletion from the crisis.

Casinos in Poland are being required to shut their doors by the Polish government as a way to limit the spread of Covid-19.

Century Casinos, based in Colorado Springs, said it will close its eight casinos in Poland beginning January 8. The company has a two-thirds interest in Casinos Poland Ltd., which contributes 4 percent of its overall cash flow.

It also operates casinos and racinos in Colorado, West Virginia, Missouri and Canada.

The company said in a statement it expects the pandemic to harm the company at least through the first part of this year.
