Presque Isle Hires GM

Presque Isle Downs casino in Erie, Pennsylvania, announced the appointment of Jeff Favre as the new vice president and general manager.

MTR Gaming’s Presque Isle Downs and Casino in Erie, Pennsylvania, has named Jeff Favre as the racino’s new vice president and general manager. Favre—the brother of NFL legend Brett Favre—was formerly director of gaming at MTR’s flagship Mountaineer Casino, Racetrack & Resort in Chester, West Virginia.

“Jeff will be joining a great group of team members at Presque Isle Downs & Casino, and I am looking forward to his collaboration with the management team there and local community leaders to build upon what our team has already accomplished in Erie,” said Joseph L. Billhimer, Jr., president and chief operating officer of MTR Gaming Group, Inc. “Jeff’s level of commitment to guest service and team building will serve him well in his new role at Presque Isle Downs & Casino.”

Favre brings with him more than 15 years of senior leadership and experience in the gaming and hospitality industry. Before joining Mountaineer, he served as director of player development for Pearl River Resort in Philadelphia, Mississippi, and as vice president and general manager of Harlow’s Casino Resort in Greenville, Mississippi. He has also held senior operational leadership positions with Isle of Capri Casinos, Paragon Casino Resort and Nevada Gold & Casinos, Inc.

“I have a wonderful team in place,” Favre told ErieTVNews. “It’s just a matter of getting the team focused, working for the same vision, same mission, one direction. All of us understanding that vision, that mission, the core strategy and objectives we have to accomplish and all work to make them.”

Favre said he will work to recover business lost as new casinos opened in neighboring Ohio.
