The Star Sydney casino recently named 20-year gaming and hospitality veteran Damian Quayle chief operating officer of gaming. In his new role, Quayle will oversee the Star’s table games, gaming machines and gaming product and strategy teams, to deliver sustained growth for Sydney’s world-class casino. Previously he was general manager of table games, where he implemented new operational efficiencies.
Prior to joining the Star in 2011, Quayle served as director of gaming administration at Melco-Crown’s City of Dreams Macau and as table games operations manager at Wynn Macau.
The Star Sydney Managing Director Greg Hawkins said, “Mr. Quayle’s appointment to the role of COO of gaming further highlights the Star’s commitment to delivering the very best gaming experience at Sydney’s only integrated resort. In this position Mr. Quayle will strategically lead the team to further enhance this exceptional gaming destination, lifting its reputation within local, national and international markets. As a gaming industry expert, I’m confident Mr. Quayle’s appointment to this pivotal role will increase the profitability of our gaming division and deliver more value for our shareholders.”
Quayle added, “I am delighted to be appointed to the role of COO of gaming at the Star Sydney. At the Star, we have one mission, to thrill our guests and to support this mission we are currently preparing to launch exciting new gaming facilities and recently announced our largest cash give-away in the past decade, with up to $8 million on offer. The Star truly is the ultimate place to play, with a world-class casino, luxury accommodation, renowned chefs and restaurants and so much more, all on the edge of Sydney Harbour. I look forward to further developing gaming operations at the Star and cementing the property’s already strong position as a global leader of entertainment.”
