Reef Casino Plans New Loyalty Program

The operator of the Reef Hotel Casino (l.) in Queensland, Australia plans to institute a new player loyalty program and a new marketing campaign to boost visitation or from Singapore and Southeast Asia.

The Reef Hotel Casino in Cairns, Queensland will invest in the development of a new tiered loyalty program this year and also increase its marketing to Singapore and Southeast Asia, according to Travel Weekly.

CEO Allan Tan says the plans will coincide with a surge in electronic gaming at the casino, and new direct flights from Singapore to Cairns.

The Reef Casino Trust was the subject of a takeover attempt by Hong Kong investor Aquis in 2014, noted Tan. “The board has given me clear instructions post-Aquis to press on and continue to build our business, without deviating from our long-held strategic ambition of delivering consistent and reliable earnings growth,” he told shareholders. “Overall, the outlook is neutral to positive.”

The property has also undergone renovations.
