The Kings Court VIP Poker Room recently opened at Hialeah Park Racing & Casino. It’s the first step of the property’s million expansion program that also will include renovating the outdoor Fountain Terrace entertainment area and the horseracing simulcast area.
The Kings Court VIP Poker Room in the casino now offers 33 tables, several in a semi-private area. Casino management have said Hialeah Park’s facility is the top-rated poker room in South Florida and among the top five in the state.
The Fountain Terrace renovation will add a roof for both the lounge area and the stage, plus a new bar, luxury furnishings and multiple flat-screen televisions.
The horseracing simulcast areas will feature extensive renovations of the Brass Rail area. The entire second floor interior will be remodeled to include hundreds of “chorale seats” with personal television monitors, several new extra-large flat-screen televisions and air conditioning.
Hialeah Park Chairman of the Board John J. Brunetti, Sr., said, “We are excited about the completion of the various stages of our expansion program which will make us far more than just a racing and gaming facility. We are taking advantage of our 200-acre site, which is, in reality, the size of the original Disneyland property in Anaheim, California. We are all very fortunate to see the tremendous new products and services and leisure centers that are developing in our area and, with the international flavor of our market, Hialeah Park will be among the ‘must see’ places for the nearly 100,000,000 visitors who come to Florida from around the world.”
Donald Dissinger, principal of EwingCole architects, noted, “John Brunetti’s strategy for the redevelopment of Hialeah Park is a broad based economic stimulus program as well as a comprehensive revitalization of the historic property. The grounds and buildings are being restored, with the goal of transforming this iconic property into a vibrant mixed use destination for the 21st century with leisure, retail, commercial and hotel facilities in the heart of Miami.”
